Our Story

Treating Chronic Pain Conditions Since 2005

When Drs. Peter Kroll, Timothy Arney, Steven Dickerson and Gilberto Carrero founded Comprehensive Pain Specialists (CPS) in 2005, they envisioned a group of experienced physicians and staff dedicated to identifying and treating chronic pain.

This vision inspired a decade of service in Tennessee helping patients with chronic pain. With 50+ locations throughout the Southeast, CPS combines evolving, precision diagnostics and innovative therapies to assist each patient with their chronic pain management needs.

About Pain Management

Pain management, also called pain medicine, is a type of specialized medical care. It is designed to minimize the impact of surgical pain or chronic pain. Chronic pain, in particular, can be difficult to control. It can sometimes be impossible to cure. Pain management treatment can help reduce pain. It can help patients enjoy a better quality of life.

Treatment Plans for Chronic Pain

Many patients with persistent pain believe they are suffering from a specific ailment, such as low back pain, neck pain, arthritis or something else. Regardless of what type of persistent pain you are suffering, if you have been experiencing it for several months – or even longer – you are among millions of Americans suffering from chronic pain.

CPS works hand-in-hand with chronic pain patients to restore their lives and provide sustainable relief.

In conjunction with office visits, services may include medication management, injections and procedures. CPS assists patients with short-term needs as well as those seeking a more permanent pain management solution. CPS will evaluate each patient and support an overall health and wellness approach which may include options such as physical therapy, a diet and nutrition plan or a mental wellness program.
