I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for this clinic not only during the holidays but all year. Today I had my appointment and the lobby was full. I suffer from severe anxiety and one of my triggers is confined spaces with people. As tears began to flow and it seemed almost easier to just cancel, Kayla from the front desk was amazing. She pulled me to the side away and asked me to have a seat while she got her manager. The manager came and was a Godsend. He asked for permission to sit and hold my hand, and didn't invade my personal space. He asked me for short breaths, to focus on the above light and called staff to get me into a room immediately and complete the visit. He then appeared with a knock and a bottle water. Lula was outstanding taking my vitals and offering a hug. I asked again upon completion to speak with Chris because I am more thankful than you can imagine. For 3 years I've dealt with this injury and the pain and seeming to be shuffled and dismissed. At this clinic I matter. I am (patient name) and am treated individually. From an organizational standpoint having staff like you so is instrumental to a patients’ comfort level. Having someone like Chris who used exercises to remove stress and redirect are crucial to those patients who suffer and would normally just walk out or get rescheduled. Please thank this team and the amazing Dr. Kim for getting me through this day.

I finally gave in and came because my pain keeps getting worse. I was very happy because the entire staff was not only friendly but very professional. I was seen by dr pepper and he was friendly and helpful. He wasn't in a hurry to get away from me and took time for me as a patient. Thank you all very much.

Dr. McHugh recommends what he feels is the best options for his patients. Staff is friendly. I have been a patient there for over 1 year. This is my 3rd clinic and the best part is practitioners don't over medicate their patients. The last pain clinic I was in they gave me way more narcotics than I needed. Now I receive just the appropriate amount and I recommend this place to anyone.

I am older and my body has been through many injuries, dysfunctions, and cancer. All that being said, I expect to be treated with basic human respect. There is never a reason for a medical professional to be unkind to patients. CPS is the ONLY pain management facility that I have not only been treated with respect, but kindness and friendliness. Most importantly the doctor is kind, funny, respectful, CARING and PROFESSIONAL. Do not waste your time and money with any other so called helping professionals.

Medicine for those that have survived things that would have killed them even 20 years ago is totally necessary and yes there are bad ones out there but thankfully here the good ones don't suffer. Strict guidelines are needed and are there for safety.

It costs absolutely nothing to be a nice human being. You have gotten that equation so right at this location. When in town I make it a point to bring my mother in law to her appointments with Kim Dang, PA-C. I was so impressed with your new boss, Christopher, at this location. My mother-in-law has started to develop onset signs of dementia and very openly repeats herself over and over again. Christopher came out into the lobby to greet all in the waiting room and thank them for being here. This is unheard of and amazing. It was so kind to know we matter and have a voice and that we are not just numbers. My mother-in-law asked Christopher for his name and where his family was from. She asked this 3 times and he answered each time and handled it with so much compassion and heart. She then proceeded to advise that the TV should be on the 'Price is Right' because she was missing the show. We chatted and he left. When our name was called and we went in the back, he knocked on our door and simply amazed me. He said I think I have something for you and asked to sit beside her and showed her his phone; it had the 'Price is Right' playing. My mother-in-law was simply tickled to death. Last night while getting her to bed, she said, Don't forget to put Christopher on my Christmas card list, and I bet he likes pecan pie so I'll bake one for him and take him one next time. I was astonished because she never recalls names but boy she loves to bake. His act of kindness made a place in our hearts. Please let him know Granny thanks him.

Dr. Peter Kroll, I have been to several doctors offices in the past 10-15 years. I have never felt the compassion, concern and that my pain and my physical or emotional condition mattered like I have with your staff at CPS. I am the radiology tech and scheduler for Dr. Patel in Franklin, VA. We were approached only once a couple of years ago about our referrals and patients, but it lacked follow through and sincerity until now. Christopher, your office manager, approached us in regards to our southern VA patients for his Roanoke Rapids clinic and central patients for a Petersburg, VA office. We were hesitant because we have heard promises before that fall on deaf ears, but the ending of talk is what made us reconsider. \"Short comings are vessels of growth . You never develop a marriage without giving a first date \". That is what swayed the office to give a shot to CPS Roanoke Rapids , and appears to be a great decision. The patient was called on the same day, introduced to clinic manager and explained the process. Christopher then had Rebecca from front desk follow up, verify all information (including insurance) and set forth the expectation. He handled all arrangements in a professional and exact manner. Our PT raved how easy and accommodating they were to her, and worked around her travel and driving schedule. She bragged that it was great to be referred to a first class practice. Regardless of my kinship, as that makes me judge at an even higher rate, there is no denying that the new relationship with CPS will be a successful one. We have numerous patients in the area that we were forcing to drive hours, and now we have a great partner only 25 minutes away. So bravo to Rebecca and Christopher from myself and Dr. Patel's office.
To Whom It May Concern: I would like to share and notify a CPS employee how the impacted and touched my heart. A few weeks ago, my father and I were flying back from Atlanta to Santa Fe and on a layover in the TGIF Fridays inside of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport. We were seated next to a gentleman with a computer bag and commented on the logo, and asked him what exactly the type of company was and he described with excitement your clinic groups and mission. My dad shared that we were very unhappy with these type of establishments, as we just buried my brother from on overdose to prescription medication. What followed next is why I want to pass a message to your employee. He apologized for the loss, and advised he could not begin to even imagine the pain we felt losing a loved one with something so avoidable. Comprehensive Pain Specialties differs from the clinic you describe as we are part of the solution, and not the problem. We do not turn to medications first and offer a wide range of other activities to alleviate and get you back to yourself before the pain. These range from over the counter, physical therapy to medical procedures. Medication is always a last resort and determined on a case-by-case basis. What he said next is what stuck his point and even opened my dad up to the conversation. "The war on opioids is not a new one, it has only gained legs because of platforms such as Facebook live, Snapchat and the media coverage. We have long been a part of the solution, while acknowledging the problem and how it affects us all." This is so true, and really was part of the issue in losing my brother. The drugs that he was on were not overnight creations, and were a problem long before turning on the nightly news, so he was spot on in calling that out. What we appreciated was the fact he did not make excuses or change the subject, but talked about being at the forefront and part of the solution not the problem itself. That took some gumption to deliver to a grieving family, and do it with care and confidence. We knew he was telling us the truth and being brutally honest. It came time for us to depart, and I asked for a hug and my father shook his hand. I asked him what advice would he give to a newly grieving family while working for an industry that is less than popular right now. I had to write on my baggage claim because what he said is what made me reach out to thank him. "Grief is not like milk, it never comes with an explanation date. It is important to never judge your pain and loss against anothers'. Their race may be your marathon." And he recommended that we find an SOS (survivors of suicide group) to talk, cry, be honest and to take time. Well, please pass this on as that was the best advice he could give us as we are 3 meetings in and have discovered not only a great support group of others like our family, but an extended family to walk us through each step. It is angels like that of Christopher who make the pain a little less each day.
